Down Comforter – What Is It ?

Down comforter used to keeping warm for you and your family perfectly. What is a down comforter? Down comforter is the blanket made from goose down feathers. It is most luxurious, more warmer, fluffier and heavier. Siberian goose down comforter is the best quality comforters sets which known superior warming and fluffier than all other varieties but most expensive for around $1000. Down comforter duvet are made from a variety of materials. The other product is eiderdown made from the Eider duck of Iceland. This eider down is luxurious, warm and good comforter. Warmth of comforter down depends on fill power and thread count. So, the most important things to consider in looking of the luxury down comforters is fill power and thread count. Thread count refers to the number of threads per square inch. Fill power refers to the comforter’s fluffiness. The comforter will be lighter, softer if that down comforter with high thread count rating, such as below :
- Light weight fill power with 525 – 600
- Medium weight fill power equal to 600 – 700
- High or Winter weight fill power equal to 700 plus.
Goose Down Comforter
Using of duvet down comforter some people sensitives and allergic to this blanket. This problem can be solved by using of hypoallergenic down comforters. Hypoallergenic can be made from sheep and alpaca wool. This filling can be made of low quality down quilt as often have an odor. Down were analyzed by hand and separated into the following:
• Down fiber
• Down residues (including land)
• Feathers
• Quill feathers
• Land bird feathers (such as chicken feathers)
• Goose or duck feathers
