Duvet is found in Northern Europe as early as the 800′s, also in Germany, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Sweden, and especially in Scandinavia, it was known most popular. As their main source of bedding, people of those country used duvets to ward off the region dampness and the chilling cold. In French word, duvet meaning down, is a soft flat bag traditionally (a type of bedding) used as a blanket on the bed. This is filled with feathers or down or combination of down and feathers. Duvet call as the continental quilts in Canada, Britain and some of the Northern United States. In Australia, duvet covers or down quilt is often called doonas and in Pakistan, duvets most popular as ralli quilts.
Duvet Comforter
Duvets used to be made from feathers of Eiderdown (Eider duck) and today, duvet can stuffed with down along with many other alternatives materials or similar fabric that is filled with cotton, silk, soft wool, foam and polyester materials. A good duvet bedding will keep a consistent temperature, provides warmth and protects against moisture and dampness, which it is same to the usefull and qualities of feathers that gave to the gees by the nature. Beside used as a cover, duvet comforter also as a mattress, so the body will surrounded by the warmth totally. Duvet cover is one way to protect and care for your beautiful comforter and also they become as a wonderful decorative touch in any various styles and colors to any bedroom in your home. That’s why, more people like to make duvet as a cover of their comforter set. The other reason that the duvet sets can be cleaned.
